Christmas Fruit Tree Centrepiece

This is a great centrepiece to make for any Christmas party. Plus, it proves once and for all that healthy food doesn’t need to be boring! It’s easy to make and tastes delicious! Here’s how you make it…
What you will need:
- 1 large carrot
- Toothpicks
- 1 punnet strawberries
- 1 kiwi fruit, sliced thickly, skin on
- ¼ watermelon, sliced and cut into small triangles or shapes
- Black and green grapes
- 1 orange, sliced or separated into segments (or other fruit of choice – cantaloupe, pineapple, mandarin and blueberries also work well)
- Star cutter
Method:
1. Wash the carrot and all fruit.
2. Cut bottom off the carrot so it is flat.
3. Insert toothpicks all around the carrot (see pic, above). Cut off ends of some toothpicks so that they are different lengths.
4. Wash all fruit and skewer onto ends of toothpicks, adjusting lengths of toothpicks as necessary.
5. Be creative, use as many fruits as you like. Add more toothpicks as you need them.
6. Finish by cutting a star shape out of the watermelon and placing this on top of the tree. Use a toothpick to hold it in place.
