Ingredients

 1 watermelon

Method

1

Option 1: Slice the watermelon into triangles of 2cm thickness and 10cm base width, leaving the rind on. Cut a slit in the bottom of the rind, and push a wooden stick in the bottom (see picture 1)

2

Option 2: Slice the watermelon into triangles of 2cm thickness and 10cm base width, leaving the rind on. Trim the rind off each triangle, except for in the middle where you leave a square of green rind to create a ‘tree stump’ (see picture 2)

Tip

  • If you’re making option 2, ensure the tree stump is thick enough so that little hands can use it to hold the tree without it collapsing.
